The Federal Aviation Administration reported that a helicopter crashed Tuesday evening in California. 13 people were on board at the time of the crash. Four people were found with critical burns. The other 9 on board are unaccounted for, and professionals suspect they died in the crash.
The helicopter was carrying firefighters that had been battling a wildfire in a remote location and were returning them home. The cause of the crash is unknown. The crash occurred near Redding, California around 7:30 PM Tuesday evening, and the entire helicopter was destroyed by the fire.
